Creating and Changing DocumentsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Context

If the SAP system does not automatically call the editor, you can also create and edit a document manually.

Procedure

  1. Choose Start of the navigation path Tools Next navigation step SAPscript Next navigation step Standard Text End of the navigation path or call transaction SO10. The dialog window Standard Text: Request appears.

  2. Enter the following:

    Field

    Use

    Text name

Name of the document. You can use letters, numbers, spaces, and special characters for the name. However, asterisks (*) and commas (,) are not permissible.

    Example: Report on Dayton Project

    Text ID

The text ID identifies the application to which the document belongs.

Do not change the default value ST (standard text). Standard texts are documents that are not specific to any SAP application, or system texts. The SAP applications have their own text IDs for application-specific documents.

    Language

The language under which your document should be stored in the SAP system. For example, the system can contain English (E) and German (D) versions of a document.

The language key is important only if your document is to be translated. Otherwise, you can leave it set to the default value, the language in which you are logged on.

  3. To create a new document, choose Start of the navigation path Standard Text Next navigation step Create End of the navigation path.

  4. To edit an existing document, choose Start of the navigation path Standard Text Next navigation step Change End of the navigation path.

Results

You are now in the editor and can enter text, edit it, save it, and so on.
