You use the PC editor to create and edit texts. You require these texts for printing forms (such as standard letters) or for creating documents (such as sales orders or material texts) in the SAP system.
As of SAP Enhancement Package 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 or SAP NetWeaver 7.1 SP05, only the Microsoft Word Editor is available as the graphical SAPscript PC editor. When the term PC editor is used in the documentation, this always refers to the SAPscript editor based on Microsoft Word.
The PC editor is fully downward compatible. You can use any texts that you have created with the line editor. The system converts the assigned formats and styles appropriately and displays them in the usual fashion.
SAP Note 742662 contains a brief overview of the prerequisites, differences to the previous PC editor, and any restrictions. The SAP Note is constantly kept up-to-date.
Microsoft Word as a SAPscript editor provides you with the most important functions from the range of functions of the word processing program Microsoft → Word:
Copying and pasting
Clicking and entering
Finding and replacing
Repeating and undoing actions
Spelling and grammar checks and the thesaurus
Using SAP styles and SAP formats

If you want to switch to the Line Editor, choose in the PC editor.
